Massimo Scanziani, University of California, Division of Biological Sciences, San Diego, USA
Dr. Massimo Scanziani studies the mechanisms by which neuronal circuits in the mammalian brain process sensory information. He did his Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the Brain Research Institute of Zurich, Switzerland and his postdoctoral training at the University of California, San Francisco.
Since 2002 he is a faculty member of the Neurobiology Section of the University of California, San Diego and in 2008 became an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. His laboratory focuses on the cellular mechanisms of visual processing in the cerebral cortex of the mouse.
